Seder & Chandler, LLP is proud to announce that Attorneys Demitrios M. Moschos and Ryan P. Avery have been selected by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly as part of its inaugural “Legal Luminaries” program. The event celebrates legal professionals who have shaped the community and advanced the practice of law across Central Massachusetts. Honorees will be recognized in December at an event in Worcester.
Demitrios M. Moschos, Partner and Chair of Seder & Chandler’s Labor and Employment Practice Group, has had a distinguished career marked by leadership, legislative contributions, and community service. A Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, Mr. Moschos is widely recognized for his work drafting key Massachusetts labor and employment statutes that remain in effect today, including the law establishing the Joint Labor-Management Committee for police and firefighter collective bargaining and several provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws governing municipal employment contracts.
In addition to his legal accomplishments, Mr. Moschos has served in leadership roles for numerous organizations, including as former Chair of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, current Director and Clerk of the Worcester Regional Research Bureau, and Director and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce Foundation. He is also an incorporator and former President of Catholic Charities Worcester County and an honorary member of the Massachusetts Municipal Management Association. Mr. Moschos served as a Captain in the United States Army and has received multiple honors for his professional and community contributions, including the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Community Service Award, the Worcester County Bar Association’s Distinguished Service Award®, the Cushing-Gavin Labor-Management Counsel Award, and the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce Advocate Award.
Ryan P. Avery, a Partner at Seder & Chandler, practices in the firm’s Real Estate, Construction, Litigation, and Labor & Employment practice groups. He represents individual and corporate clients in a wide range of legal matters, including labor and employment claims, construction disputes, and commercial litigation. His experience includes litigation before state and federal courts, arbitration proceedings, and representation before state agencies such as the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the Department of Labor Relations.
Mr. Avery recently served as President of the Worcester County Bar Association and has also served as a Trustee of the Worcester Law Library Trust. In 2020, he was appointed Special Prosecutor for the Middle District (Worcester County) by District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr. He is a Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America and has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star since 2019. Mr. Avery has also served as an appointed Hearing Officer for the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers.
