SederLaw Proudly Sponsoring the SHINE Initiative Annual Gala
SederLaw is proud to once again be a sponsor of the SHINE Initiative’s 13th Annual Gala.
On World Mental Health Day Thursday October 10, the SHINE Initiative, founded in 2004 by Fidelity Bank with input from its employees, will celebrate its mission of combating discrimination and destigmatizing mental health conditions in children and young adults at its 13th annual Keep Your Mind OPEN gala at Mechanics Hall in Worcester. Last year’s dinner raised more than $134,000 to support the nonprofit’s expansion of programs, including Mind Matters Teams that empower Massachusetts high school students to become mental wellness advocates in their schools. The gala begins at 5:30 with a cocktail hour and dinner, followed by a speaking program at 7:45pm
At this year’s event, the keynote speaker will be Chamique Holdsclaw, mental health advocate, Olympic Gold Medalist, and three time NCAA Championship winning basketball player. Since Holdsclaw retired from the WNBA after 11 seasons, she has become a nationally recognized mental health and wellness activist. At the gala, she will be sharing her personal story about her battles with depression and how she has been able to seek help and manage her own mental health.
SederLaw is committed to the constinued support of this organization, which works with teachers, students, parents and caregivers in 40 schools throughout Central Massachusetts.
